Kidepo valley national park is one of the remote parks in East Africa and Uganda’s most magnificent park that is found along the border of Uganda, Kenya and south Sudan in the northeast. It has an incredible scenery that can’t be got elsewhere in East Africa. The park provides shelter to abundant wildlife and numerous bird species. A visit to this park is an assurance to sight resident Lions, leopards, ostrich, cheetah, herds of Buffaloes and antelopes. Ostriches and cheetahs can only be found in this park. Bird life in Kidepo is superb because of the presence of some rare species that are endemic to this park such as Black-breasted barbe and karamoja apallis. Kidepo national park is perched in unexploited environment with typically a virgin and incredible culture of the native Karamojongs. Another midrange lodge in Kidepo valley national park is the recently opened Kidepo savannah lodge which offers two alternative lodging options depending on your budget and choice. The lodge presents accommodation in both budget and moderate tents with breath taking views and cosy environment.

The midrange safari tents have ensuite bath rooms while in the budget tents bathrooms and toilets are shared, however they share a common restaurant located in the main house. The lodge boats a total of 8 impressive safari tents that are appointed on raised decks to cater for midrange visitors while budget travelers are catered for within the comfortably furnished tents which offer up to 9 non self-contained tents.

Apoka rest camp on the other hand is a typical budget lodge with bandas. Travelers who decide to use this camp are advised to carry food or inform the staff early in advance about meal arrangements. The toilets are outside the bandas and the camp is managed by the Uganda wildlife Authority. All bandas have been built in an African style and comprise of up to 14 Bandas each with 1 non self-contained double room.
